Data on affective valence (feel good/bad responses) and ratings of perceived exertion (Borg’s RPE) were collected while participants underwent 3 virtual reality cycling conditions. Two virtual reality conditions involved deceptive vision about the cycling environment (altering the visual environment while holding pedal rate and resistance constant; illusory uphill and illusory downhill). A flat road condition was used as the control (vision of a flat surface matched unchanging pedal rate and resistance). Data also includes heart rate, power output while cycling as well as participant’s ability to detect their own heartrate (interoceptive accuracy). ER -
