Contains material related to the career of South Australian architect, Harold Griggs. The Griggs Collection consists of the records produced by Griggs in the course of his work as a practicing architect. They cover the years 1929 to 1984 and include the envelope or scrap of paper on which Griggs first sketched his ideas for a job, to the final drawings, accounts and comments when the job was finished. They are a very complete set of records showing Griggs' intellectual input to the job, outside influences such as illustrations from magazines or the client, and the workings of an architect's office during this period.
Includes 3 series. Includes correspondence, sketches, bills, plans, notes etc which pertain to particular jobs; personal correspondence, correspondence detailing work to be done for insurance purposes (especially earthquake damage repairs from all over S. A.), invoices for work carried out, monthly sundry debtors lists, copy of will of Harold T Griggs. Included are references to bills for jobs in progress, tenders, (job numbers as see also references), office running costs eg electricity etc, taxation information for1947-1955, insurance, membership to golf club, organisations relating to architecture etc, medical costs for H.T. Griggs.
